It's official...

1 year, 4 months, and 4 days after graduating.....

I have a PERMANENT full-time job!

As a business woman, nonetheless. Who would have thought?!?!

It is a start, especially during this economy. 

Now that I have a permanent job, Raine and I can move one with life by (in no particular order) planning our wedding, buying  a house, having a baby, graduating from grad school, buying a pet. I can't wait. Finally, things are looking up!

Catch-up (and not the red stuff)

So many things have happened in the past month!

My grandmother from AZ has been in town for the past week, visiting, so I have been hanging out with her as much as possible. Shopping, sight seeing, eating out, going to the movies (I highly recommended "the Help"), you name it we have done it. In our recent shopping excursion, she helped me pick out a couple wedding rings!

(I am in love with this enhancer, I just haven't decided if I want the tradition ring or the enhancer. Decisions, Decisions)

I also like this one...

Raine was excited the rings I picked weren't too expensive. The sale associate was getting him in trouble by showing me anniversary rings. If I got the enhancer, I pair it with a ring similar to this..



In other news, Raine and I experienced our first earthquake on August 23rd, 2011! At first, I thought it was a heavy individual walking by me (the floor already moves when heavy individuals walk by) but then I noticed the floor was shaking much more. A co-worker stood up to say we were having an earthquake. Raine's department evacuated the building. I guess my department doesn't care about us. My mom has earthquake envy. She never felt the earthquake, since she was in a car.

Last weekend, I went to Dagny's 2nd Birthday Party!  I cannot believe it has been two years, since she was born. Rory has the puts on the most amazing birthday parties. Tis the Season of Weddings

On Saturday, August, 6, 2011,

Raine and I attended

Macky and Jennifer Brewer's Wedding

Since I was a bridesmaid, Raine and I made it to the worship center at 9:30 in the morning. I got my hair and make-up did (I loved my hair style) , while Raine took a nap in the nursery. The wedding started promptly at 1:30. Jennifer looked beautiful.

After the ceremony, we attended the reception. Instead of a big meal, every type of dessert was served. There were these amazing chocolate covered peanut butter fudge drops! I ate two. Yummmy! Then all of the bridal party and a few of the groomsmen hit the dance floor. Poor Raine was not feeling very well. He was a great trooper.

Also, Raine and I gave his sister her baby gift. His mom said she tried and tried to guess what we made her, but never guess it. I think it turned out adorable. She is going to use it as a centerpiece at her baby shower, which Raine and I couldn't attend due to work.

It contains: 92 size one diapers, 1 bottle of baby lotion, two pairs of socks, two pacifiers, 1 bottle of baby shampoo, diaper rash cream, and a stuffed animal. She is having a second family baby shower at the end of August. Raine and I might be able to attend it.

Birthday Bonanza!

If you haven't guessed already today is Raine's 23rd birthday! We decided to celebrate his birthday on Saturday, since I had my sewing class on Monday. I made him special WV sugar cookies.

I didn't have any yellow sprinkles...

I had some reject cookies that were missing the Northern/Eastern Panhandle

And I took him out to dinner at Uno's Chicago Grill and Bar. I told our waitress that we were out celebrating Ryan's birthday, which he feverishly denied. Surprisingly, she demanded to see his license. After she was able to read his license, she made the entire staff sing to him (Ryan hates this, but it makes me happy)

On Sunday, Ryan and I celebrated J.T's birthday. It was a nice family get together. Jeannine made the best homemade macaroni and cheese I have ever had! I wish I had asked to take some home. We sang "Happy Birthday" to J.T., Uncle Cleve, and Raine (sweetest thing that they had included Ryan) Then J.T. opened all of his gifts. Raine and I had a $5 limit. We only spent $4.98 on Uno Tippo! The game was adult tested of course by Ryan and me.

Christmas in July...

 Santa brought me my Christmas present early.

I received a Brother's sewing machine! I recently developed the passion to sew. I have learned how to make a pillow case, a pillow, and on Monday, I will be learning how to make a tunic. Can't wait!

In other news, Rain and I went to go see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 Friday night. I wanted to see it at the midnight showing, (since I have never done that before) but we had to work the next day. So the 10:30 Friday night showing was almost the same... almost.


The movie was indescribable. It mirrored the book perfectly. I got a little teary eyed a couple of times.

My favorite parts were:

• Ron and Hermione's kiss
• Snape's revelation to Harry
• The epilogue
• And of course "You Know Who" dying

Recently, when I was at the bookstore, I overheard a mother asking her child if she wanted to read the Harry Potter series. The young girl just glanced at the books and stated "no." If only she had known they don't make books like Harry Potter anymore. Twilight is nothing compared to Harry Potter. I almost wanted to step up and defend Harry Potter, telling her all the highlights of the books. But I didn't. Soon enough, she will learn what she is missing.


It may have ended....

but Harry  Potter will remain in my heart!

Life as a TEMP...

I always tell one of my co-workers at the company that shall not be named that we should write a book about being temps. Don't get me wrong, I am very thankful that I am employed during this economic recession, gaining experience, oh yeah and getting paid. But lately, life as a temp is frustrating me...

I have been employed at the company that shall not be named for the past 9 mos, but I do not get paid vacations. So, I will not get paid for taking off Friday nor will I get paid for Monday. Two days without pay... Two small paychecks...

Additionally, I don't have dental or eye insurance, which is scary considering I think I found a cavity. Dental work is expensive, very expensive. I am going to have to look into paying for dental work out of pocket (OOP) or purchasing dental insurance through my bank. Oh the joys of getting older...

So, for next 30 days, I am going to try to apply for a job everyday. Wish me luck!

My Bliggity Blog..

I have to give a special thanks to my friend Alyssa, who has helped me "pimp" out my blog. In addition to being a wife, housewife, and mother, she is also a blogger extraordinaire! I am so afraid to mess with any tabs for fear that I will have to ask for her help again. I guess I should have paid more attention my high school's web page design class.

For the longest time, I have been telling Ryan aka "Rain," my fiance, I have wanted to start a blog. Some of my friends (Alyssa and Rory) have great blogs where I can keep up with their families. So here it goes...

Ryan had to work this weekend, so for most of it I was on my own. On Saturday, I went to Target to capitalize on their deals. Thanks to my frugal adventures and my future nephew, Rylan Aaron, I have become a amateur couponer. Not as crazy as those people on TLC's "Extreme Couponers." I only spent $6.96 on 7 items! I bought:

• Ritz Crackerfuls (originally $2.20) for .65
• Crystal Light x 2 (originally $1.97 a piece) for $1.94
• BBQ Sauce (originally .99) for FREE
• Miracle Whip (originally $2.50) for $1.50
• Nivea Lotion (originally $5.04) for $1.04
• Olay Moisturizer (originally $6.89) for .89

Later that evening, Ryan and I had a picnic dinner at the free Jazz Concert in town. We had a nice time, expanding our musical interest to a slower type of Jazz.
